Darlac tools

We understand the difference a good tool can make, and have sought out the best for you for quality, value and usability.

Darlac was an obvious choice for the Plant Centre – their range of high quality, affordable tools has won them numerous Best Buy awards, and they specialise in lightweight, often extendable tools that make gardening easier.

They do left handed pruners and spare parts too, which we like! Customer favourites include the Compact Snips, Ladies Lightweight Shear, and the two different poles with their interchangeable attachments.

Greenman tools

Another family-owned company, Greenman's tools are carefully crafted from the finest materials, with tactile handles made from sustainable ash, and beautiful stainless steel heads.

Inspired by the contents of Grandfather's shed, these tools have undergone several generations of development and rigorous testing so you know you can rely on them.

Tools for Self Reliance

TFSR logo

Time to clear out the tool-shed? If your shed is already full, but its occupants not all exactly cutting-edge, why not bring your cast-offs to the Plant Centre. We act as a collection point for Tools for Self Reliance, a charity which refurbishes old tools to enable people in Africa to make a living. Tools are sold here in the UK to raise money, and any that suitable are sent to Africa as starter kits for a specific trade. Old sewing machines (Singer round-bobbin hand operated) can also be donated. Once you have cleared your shed out, why not treat yourself to something new and useful to help you get the most from your gardening?
